To really properly impregnate cotton canvas, use a special impregnating agent. You can thus be sure that the tent canvas is also really well protected. Read here what is important.
Specially developed impregnating agent for cotton tent
Many impregnating agents for tents are sold. People often make no distinction in the tent canvas to be treated. The product would then be suitable for cotton, polyester, etc.
That is strange. That's not how it works in practice however.
- For example, a polyester thread is smooth. To protect it, a different ingredient is needed than to protect a cotton thread.
- The cotton fibre is open and rough. To properly impregnate that cotton fibre, that fibre must be completely filled.
Furthermore, the cotton must be impregnated all the way to the core.
