Cleaning your convertible roof is important!
If the roof of your convertible is dirty, do not wait too long before cleaning it. Since the grime attaches to other grime. And it is precisely this grime that retains moisture for longer. Green build-up and algae grow even faster on a dirty damp convertible top. So if you do nothing, the convertible roof will become increasingly dirty.
Instructions: Convertible Roof Cleaning with Sprayhood & Tent Shampoo
Ultramar Sprayhood & Tent Shampoo is a strong fabric cleaner. You use this cleaner to first remove all normal dirt from the convertible top. Follow the steps below:
- First clean the convertible top with lukewarm water. All grime detached in so doing is taken away.
- Spray Sprayhood & Tent Shampoo on the wet fabric. It is not harmful if the shampoo gets on the windows or the car. Use the brush to loosen the grime.
- Let the shampoo do its work and allow it to soak for 20 minutes.
- Rinse the convertible top well with water, to remove all grime and shampoo.
- Allow the roof to dry well.
- Is there still grime on the convertible fabric? Then continue with Ultramar Power Cleaner.

Hasn't all grime disappeared with Sprayhood & Tent Shampoo? Then continue with Ultramar Power Cleaner.
- Spray the Power Cleaner on the dry fabric. Use the spray or plant sprayer again.
- Rub in well with a soft brush
- Allow Power Cleaner to soak in for approximately 1 hour.
- Can't see any change? Spray extra Power Cleaner, brush and again allow to soak in. Repeat these steps until the stains are gone. This can sometimes take a few hours.
- Are you happy? Rinse the convertible top well with clean water.
- Allow the convertible top to dry well.
- Protect the convertible roof with a strong impregnating agent.
