Different types of grime

The grime on a boat cover is a combination of different types of grime, such as:

  • atmospheric grime from industry
  • car exhaust fumes
  • Bird droppings
  • Juice from leaves and trees
  • insects
  • sand, limescale and salt
  • etc. etc.

Therefore, always clean in a number of steps. Every step and cleaning agent tackles different dirt.

Step 1: First clean the boat cover with water and then immediately afterwards with Sprayhood & Tent Shampoo.
Step 2: Then clean the boat cover with Power Cleaner.

Allow to sufficiently soak in

The cleaning agents need time to work. This is particularly important with the Power Cleaner. This can sometimes take a few hours.

  • Sprayhood & Tent Shampoo: approximately 20 minutes.
  • Power Cleaner: Allow to soak in for at least one to eight hours. If necessary, spray on and brush in a little extra product every hour.

Chemistry, temperature and motion

Chemistry, temperature and motion also have an effect on the operation of the product. The following points should be considered:

  • Chemistry: Use a little more product.
  • Temperature: lukewarm water often works better than cold water. Be careful with high temperatures. Ensure that the water is never warmer than 30 Degrees. (Lukewarm water).
  • Motion: Brush with a soft, firm brush. This is how you brush the grime loose.

With these tips and products you can get any boat cover clean.
